Cua Lo Port is located in Nghe An Province, Vietnam. It is situated on the coast of the East Sea and is one of the most important ports in the northern central region of Vietnam. The port serves as a gateway for cargo transportation between the central provinces and the Northern provinces of Vietnam.
The port has a total area of 18 hectares and a wharf length of 660 meters. The water depth at the wharf is around 8 meters, which can accommodate vessels with a capacity of up to 5,000 DWT. Cua Lo Port mainly handles cargo shipments such as agricultural products, industrial goods, and construction materials. The port also offers services for passenger transportation, with ferry routes connecting Cua Lo Port to other ports in the region.

Construction of the port started on December 7, 2010. The investor is the People’s Committee of Nghe An province with a total investment capital of 490 million USD. Design consultant is Japan Port Corporation (Japan). Phase 1 of Cua Lo port construction project is expected to be completed in 2015.
The port length is 3,020 meters, capable of receiving ships of 30,000 DWT – 50,000 DWT.
